Either education is a situation of research and this research produces new pedagogy, or it is a service provided to young children
subjugating them in some way in a message that is wholly prefabricated or codified.

This study group is an opportunity for you to renew and deepen knowledge of working strategies in the Reggio Emilia Approach through material that is recorded and in live meetings with a teacher and a pedagogista working in Reggio Emilia Municipality preschools and infant-toddler centres every day.
The pedagogista and teacher will follow you during the whole digital study group with an in-depth exploration of 3 central aspects of Design Thinking, which is the strategy and modality of daily work in the Reggio Emilia Approach:
- Design thinking: from strategy of thinking to strategy of working in daily life
- Designing learning contexts: weaving thoughts together for the start of a story
- The 100 languages in daily contexts inside infant-toddler centres and preschools: an in-depth look at drawing and storytelling in multidisciplinary contexts.
4 videos in your own reserved area on the Reggio Children website will give you a progressive understanding of these themes.
The first video, Introduction to observation, interpretation, documentation and strategies of evaluation: giving value to learning processes, lays down the premises for content that is explored further in 3 live sessions.
Each live event will be dedicated to and look deeper at a specific area of progettazione / design: a pedagogista and a teacher will comment in person on aspects of the 3 recorded videos, offering further understanding in interactive ways and through online group work.
The Zoom platform will become a real virtual classroom, where thinking, questions, and reflections can be shared.
From home you will be able to ask questions and interact with other participants.
Through documentation in videos and presentations you will be inside the infant-toddler centres and preschools that, through their work, renew the Reggio Emilia Approach every day.
It is a unique opportunity for a deeper experience of Reggio Emilia’s pedagogical approach.
Materials will be yours for a month after the end of the study group. You will be able to view the material as many times as you like, taking notes and marking anything unclear, to share in the live sessions.
