Arrival in Reggio Emilia to be arranged individually by the participants. Reggio Emilia is just 40’ by train from the Bologna Central Railway Station. The Loris Malaguzzi International Centre is located just behind the railway station of Reggio Emilia (“Reggio Emilia”), or 10 minutes’ drive by taxi from the high-speed train station (Reggio Emilia AV).

A visit to the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in Reggio Emilia for publishers, authors, illustrators, editors, translators, designers, agents, sector operators and general public is organized as part of the partnership between the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Reggio Children.
Visitors will have an insight into the creative approach to learning and the hundred languages theory that are at the basis of Reggio Emilia’s education philosophy for infants, toddlers and preschool children, a worldwide known reference point on the education scene.
The afternoon dedicated to children’s publishers consists in a visit to the exhibitions, ateliers, bookshop and other spaces of the International Centre.
One of the most original characteristics of Reggio Emilia's educational approach is that it has embraced the poetic languages (visual, musical, dance, poetry, architecture, design...) and the aesthetic dimension as relevant elements for the life of our species and for learning.
The Atelier is a place that weaves together the several aspects – cognitive, emotional, expressive and rational – involved in knowledge and learning. Here, the different expressive languages, along with the aesthetic dimension, form the basis for all the projects and initiatives developed. It is an approach that arouses intense interest, curiosity and wonder from the things that surround us, as well as a collective problem-solving spirit.
Reggio Children is also an independent publishing house that produces titles based on child-learning projects and research that also include the child’s perspective, born from the experience of the infant-toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia.
Reggio Children published directly and with more than seventy partner publishers in Italy and abroad, with translations into 27 languages: Italian, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Persian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese and Vietnamese.
Once again this year we will participate in the 63rd edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair as part of the Italian Collective organised by the Italian Publishers Association in the BBPLUS section (Hall 29 - Mall 1), with the latest publications and a selection of titles in various languages.
