Digital citizenship

A guide for the future

Educating to “digital citizenship”, as today there is no reality that does not move between offline and online, between physical and virtual, certainly means promoting the construction of evolved technological skills, but above all it means educating for an awareness of rights and responsibilities, the dynamics of democracy, for the ability to take a complex gaze in analyzing phenomena, in order to intervene and participate in the construction of a society that is more just and inclusive.

Examining the concepts of "conscious citizenship", "coexistence" and "digital citizenship" – or citizenship in the digital age – this volume collects the contributions presented for the occasion of the Open Day of the Degree Course in Digital Education (academic year 2020-21) at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, with a Lectio magistralis lecture by Luciano Floridi.
