Everyone's city

Building the city to know it.

Bruno Munari Municipal Preschool: children from 3 to 5 years old

The city is a complex, ever-changing place that children explore with movements, gestures and thoughts, entering into contact with urban spaces to discover its deeper qualities.

In the hands of the children, the city of Reggio Emilia has taken shape through paper. Children's knowledge, thoughts and desires always seek a concrete, expressive dimension that allows them to make their ideas visible and shareable with others.

Try inventing and building your own paper city, too.

APRI LA MAPPA

The Munari School, home-school, as the children call it, is located in the CLN neighborhood, a large building complex where housing and businesses coexist. The architecture is characterized by long arcades facing a square, a public space, a place for people to meet and for children to play: an open-air gymnasium.

The architectural complex of the CLN is located on the outskirts of the city near the 18th-century promenade that connects the San Pellegrino Bridge to the city center.

Through slow walks, starting from the places closest to the neighborhood, the children gradually discovered the city, tracing a dense network of trajectories where the school took on a central role, becoming the point of convergence of experiences.
