APRI LA MAPPA
The neighborhood walks of the five-year-old children from the Girotondo School came out of their desire to share what they know, discovering and rediscovering places and spaces that belong not only to them, but to residents, passers-by, “travelers,” people...who sometimes, in the children's imaginations become characters that arouse great interest.
Thus came a map, of encounters, chats and interviews, sometimes real, sometimes ideal. While walking, the children focus on human beings: whether they’re walking with their heads down, staring at their cell phones or looking around, whether they have a fast or relaxed pace, whether they’re with their pets, riding their bicycles, on their scooters, whether they have bags, backpacks, purses, trolleys...This piques the children's thoughts, and they ask questions, make assumptions and imagine unknown lives that they aren’t indifferent to.
It often happens that the voices, footsteps and gazes of the children capture the attention of the people who become curious, asking, wondering, telling about themselves and the neighborhood. The children display an open attitude to the others, they tell us not to remain indifferent in the city and for the city.
The map was created by the 5-year-old children.
