AT HOME WITH THE REGGIO APPROACH
PLAYING TOGETHER AT HOME
by Preschools and Infant-toddler centres – Istituzione of the Municipality Reggio Emilia, and Reggio Children
The intention behind this proposal is to focus on the concept of listening through an experience where we concentrate on our ears and our sense of hearing.
When we listen our ears don’t just receive sounds, they send them directly to the brain and set off a creative thinking process: listening is a marvellous combination of thoughts and hearing processes, it takes curiosity and a desire for discovery.
SOUNDS – POINTS OF VIEW
We’d like to invite you to collect the words of children as they discuss the SOUND RIDDLES and send them in an email to iorestoacasa@reggiochildren.it with:
> name of child
> age of child
> where the child is from
We will post everyone’s ideas and build up a collection of interpretations, once again testifying to the richness of children’s thinking; not “exact” answers but rather, different points of view about sounds.
During a morning meeting at preschool Tommaso, 4.8 years, tells his friends: Even when we listen to the same music we all think different things.
