The Wonder of Learning
The Hundred Languages of Children
The travelling exhibition The Wonder of Learning recounts experience from infant-toddler centres, preschools and primary schools in the city of Reggio Emilia.
This exhibition is offered as a democratic piazza calling international attention to the importance of education and schools as places for discussion and mutual exchange.
In continuity with the previous exhibition The Hundred Languages of Children, the aim is to reconfirm the values at the heart of the Reggio Emilia educational philosophy and to recount the changes, innovations, and developments that have taken place. The exhibition speaks to all those involved in schooling, and to all members of the general public who believe that safeguarding educational processes and their evolution is of fundamental importance for society.
The setup structure can be adapted to the various characteristics of the exhibition spaces.
The various projects are communicated using different media: three-dimensional objects, videos, booklets, audio recordings, and so on, which can be associated with the same project to enable different levels of reading and study, and to afford visitors a personal approach according to their level of interest and competency.
The exhibition is divided into sections:
Dialogues with places
Dialogues with material
The enchantment of writing
Ray of light
Ideas and project
Municipality of Reggio Emilia
Preschool and Infant-Toddler Centres – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia
Reggio Children - Loris Malaguzzi Foundation
The Wonder of Learning is also a series of publications by Reggio Children designed to provide more in-depth reflections on the projects displayed in the exhibition.
The exhibition catalogue and all the titles of the series are available in italian and english.
