What image of children, teachers, and parents is the educational project of Reggio Emilia’s municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools built on?

By documenting a  day in preschool, teachers and pedagogistas will offer a theoretical and practical introduction.

Pedagogies and educational projects are built on values we risk “betraying” when we put theory into practice.

For this reason we have chosen to introduce Reggio Emilia’s municipal education project by sharing a day in a preschool:

from opening at 7:30 am through to the evening, from parents bringing children to school, to a meeting with teachers.

We propose webinar participants learn more about theory in contexts where this theory takes shape every day.

Reggio Emilia’s educational project doesn’t have theory that is put into practice, but rather a constant and circular dynamic between practice and theory, a social and constructive dynamic, in which both children and adults participate.

Relations, learning contexts, play, self-care, times and rhythms, the structure and organisation of situations and groups of children and of adults, are all aspects that will be made visible through documentation (photos, videos, pencil and paper notes, created by teachers) highlighting multiple examples of how theory is referenced and values positioned, and giving participants a complex, rounded image.
