Ray of Light Interactive Exhibition

The Ray of Light Atelier interactive exhibit is a traveling exhibit that is born from the Ray of Light Atelier experience and documents the research projects carried out with the many children and youth who have worked in the spaces of the Ray of Light Atelier at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre.

The exhibit offers visitors an opportunity to explore interactive materials and instruments and provides a context for study, professional development and dissemination where it is possible to meet, discuss, and marvel, participating in children’s thoughts and theories about light.

The environment is aimed primarily for teachers and others involved in education, but also to a general public of children, youth, and adults, and anyone who is interested or curious about the many facets of light.

The concepts investigated are primarily reflection, refraction, and diffraction, which can also be found in the experiences of children and youth.

The structure is composed of 40 linear meters of panels mounted on flexible modular frameworks that enable easy assembly and adaptability to various kinds of spaces. It combines various levels of depth and different types of languages: texts, images, and video.

Along with the panels, there are a number of fixed parts called illuminatòri. Each illuminatòrio is designed for use by multiple individuals in order to create interactions and exchange around a learning concept or problem
