From Wave to Wave
Atelier of Water and Energy
The Atelier of Water and Energy “From Wave to Wave”, promoted by the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park in collaboration with the Municipality of Ligonchio and ENEL, and with consulting from Reggio Children, is a place for exploring both the physical phenomena and the material and expressive qualities of water and energy.
The historical ENEL Hydroelectric Plant in the town of Ligonchio, in the province of Reggio Emilia, houses the “Base Camp” of the Atelier: a place dedicated to children, youth, and adults for research and experimentation on water, its characteristics, its use, and how it creates energy by means of movement, and on the electrical energy produced by movement and by magnetic fields.
It is a space for interactive research supervised by atelieristas from the ‘Il Ginepro’ Cooperative, who use hands-on exploration and group activities to support the learning processes of the children and youth in discovering complex physical and natural phenomena.
In the future, the Atelier “From Wave to Wave” will also include “Outside camps” situated in other sites of the surrounding area, creating one large atelier spread over the territory, where inside and outside explorations and experimentations will interweave and support each other.
The atelier is open by reservation only.
